As you may have noticed, it's been a while since we've had downloadable content on here. Don't hate us. These things take time. [Bonus points for alliteration.] Don't worry, I'm making up for it now.

You're a fan of Q-Tip, aren't you? You should be. Well, for whatever reason, and wherever I got it from, I happen to have a copy of Q-Tip's upcoming album...sort of. You know, The Renaissance? It was originally called Live at the Renaissance, and was supposed to drop back in '06, but got shelved. I forget how I acquired it, but the tracklisting has drastically changed since then. Which means I might just put the whole '06 version up, just to establish hip-hop head supremacy. But that'd be for another day. Baby steps, children.

Right now, I'm just going to drop a joint that was supposed to be on Live at the Renaissance. I bring to thee Q-Tip's "That's Sexy", featuring Andre Benjamin. Click the pic.

Common & Skateboard are back at it, c/o Hype Williams, or "Hype TV" in this joint. [Remember "Hype Warhol" from the "Everybody Nose" remix vid? Yop-yop.]

     In all honesty, the video isn't terribly interesting; yes, it's techy and such, but after that, it doesn't really do anything else.  The video for "Announcement" was better.  I'm also glad Hype saved us from having to see Pharrell in two consecutive Common videos.  No, a robot's head doesn't count.  But the song is dope, so it's tolerable.  It's ever better to see live [which reminds me, pics from the Common x N*E*R*D concert coming soon].

Oh, and peep Pharrell's robo-eyes.  Definitely a nod to HAL 9000.

A while ago, Bouier dropped the Dior Homme fashion show vid, for which French electro house group Justice did the soundtrack. Then I brought the audio rip. Then a few days ago, Bouier dropped what I assume will be the radio edit, truncated and with an extra guitar solo. [EDIT: The shorter version is just the last four minutes of the full version.] So I now bring the full version, same as the audio rip from before, except now in CD quality. "Planisphere" is unique because it offers a focused attempt at the classical baroque stylings that Justice usually only provides on the breaks of their other songs. 17 [count 'em] seventeen minutes long, and worth every second.      But I digress.  Yes, Rare Gems will be the segment in which we drop [wait for it...] gems that are of rare commodity.  Old or new [most likely the former], joints featured here will be obscure and/or unreleased material, serving no purpose other than to educate the masses and flesh out otherwise light-weighted iTunes collections [*ahem* 138 GB, but no one likes a showboat, so...].   I'm not promising that all of the gems will be priceless, but who doesn't enjoy a nice cubic zirconium once in a while?  Let's go on...

     So...for some reason, people think that Timbaland and Pharrell are rivals.  Not true at all.

     Way back when [circa early 90's], T&P had formed a collective with Magoo called SBI [that's S.urrounded B.y I.diots].  Though no material from that era has been released, there are more recent collaborations between the three that have been made public.  The first I bring to thee is an unreleased joint that didn't quite make it on Pharrell's solo debut.  Produced by Skateboard, with Timbaland & Magoo, it's entitled "Big White Spaceship".  *ahem*  I dare not say what it's about.  Bon appetitty.

     Timbaland also produced a joint for SBI, originally meant to be on his and Magoo's Under Construction II.  Unfortunately, like "Big White Spaceship", this song also didn't make the cut.  It's called "Vulnerable", and while I have a feeling most people will end up like "Spaceship" better, it's still a decent cut, and offers us the opportunity to hear Timbaland's falsetto.  What?  Come on, don't make that face.  Give it a chance.

     And, as [almost] always, the Beloved Bone-us item, a reward for your much appreciated readership.  I bring you a remix of Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger", by Coin Operated Boy.  Today's Beloved Bone-us is provided c/o Stoney Roads.  It's more electrified than the original, but...it's worth a listen.  Enjoy.
