SIA _ Breathe Me (Four Tet Remix)

If you enjoy music as much as I, you will enjoy this remix to a great SIA song. Click on the image to listen and download.

Thought I'd start your day off correct.

New Flavor: Melanie Fiona

I could talk your ear off about who she is and where she's from [Toronto], or...I could let you just listen:

Like?  Good.  Peep the live joints, though:

How's that make you feel?  Thought so.

Need something for the doggy bag?  I bring you her first single, "Give It To Me Right".  Clickity.

AND...in case you didn't know that was a sample:

No need to thank me; the first hit's always free.

Murph...

Kanye x VH1 Storytellers

Kanye performing "Stronger", from the VH1 Storytellers series:

Dope.  I tried everything in my power to get the mp3 for this, but...VH1's flash player is coded like a douche, sew...the vid will have to do.  The entire performance airs on VH1 Saturday [that's the 28th, and I don't mean March] at 9 pm Eastern.  Set your DVRs.  I already did.  I'm sure someone will rip the whole performance on audio too, so...wait for that.

I try to ignore sh!†, but...it keeps finding me.

I've tried to ignore this issue, but...it isn't going away anytime soon.  Interpret this however you like, before I add my twopence:

Yes, sew...Joaquin Phoenix [that'd be the bearded gent on the left] has retired from acting to start rapping.  In fact, he made his debut a month ago in Vegas:

Sounds pretty bad, right?  Well...in Phoenix's defense, he was drunk.  How drunk?  Drunk enough to fall off stage:

Yeah.

Phoenix has been asked repeatedly if this is a publicity stunt. His response:
"Might I be ridiculous? Might my career in music be laughable? Yeah, that's possible, but that's certainly not my intention."
Right.

In the first video above, Joaquin's decision is met with laughter, by Letterman and the audience alike.  Why?  Is the idea of a rap career now a punchline?  It wasn't a joke when Phoenix recorded the soundtrack for the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line.  And if it is a stunt, why does hip-hop have to be the gimmick?  Hasn't urban music suffered enough?

Don't know if it's a publicity stunt or not.  Don't care, frankly.  Put the mic down, homie [a colloquialism I apply loosely].  I'll leave the film puns to Bouier.

Jamie Foxx _ Blame It

This is pretty much the ONLY song that I like on the radio right now. By the way, this video is amazing, for the cameos alone (Son, is that Opie Taylor in the video?). AND, the video is comedic...in various ways. Oh, lest we forget that it is also TECHNICALLY sound.
